Asset detail, download, and share

Inspect media, metadata, and version history; download or share when your role allows.

How to use

1. Open asset detail

From Assets or Search, click an asset to open /assets/{id}.

The page loads the media player first; metadata panels load asynchronously.

2. Review media

Play or view the asset in the type-appropriate player: video, audio, image, archive, or fallback viewer.

3. Technical metadata

Expand Technical metadata in the left panel for format, codec, dimensions, duration, file size, and related fields.

Review Version history to see prior versions; the current version is highlighted.

4. Descriptive and AI metadata

In the right panel, review:

  • Tags (editable if you have metadata edit permission)
  • AI metadata: summary, scene description, labels
  • Transcript (video/audio). Click a line to seek in the player
  • Custom fields from your schema
  • Linked entities when relationships exist

Scroll to Related assets for media linked through your entity graph.

6. Download

If your role includes download permission, use the download control in the player toolbar. Viewer roles may not see download (playback only).

7. Share

If permitted, open Share from the header to generate a share link or configure sharing options.

Troubleshooting

  • Metadata panels empty. Processing may still be running; refresh after a few minutes.
  • No download button. Your role may be view-only; contact an admin for permission changes.
  • Transcript missing. Transcription runs during ingest; re-process or wait if recently uploaded.
  • Player error. Try refresh; confirm the asset finished processing in Assets.
