Professional Services
Professional Services engagement pattern
This page describes a composite engagement pattern drawn from real Flomenco Professional Services work with enterprise media customers. It is not a single named customer story. Timeline bands match our standard engagement methodology. Outcome figures come from anonymized case studies of similar engagements.
The pattern
Media teams often need Flo when two pressures collide:
- Migration or platform change while the business must keep selling, scheduling, and distributing content
- Multi-system sync across rights, title metadata, and distribution under tight launch windows
Professional Services scopes the first production workflow against those pressures, then expands once the path is proven.
Challenge themes (composite)
Typical engagements combine challenges like these:
- Keep a legacy catalog and a new title management system in sync during migration, including bi-directional updates and complex field mapping
- Extend the platform of record with bulk actions, custom naming, and business-specific logic the core product does not ship
- Sync rights data into title metadata, then publish accurate distribution metadata so catalog launches do not stall on manual reconciliation
- Hit aggressive launch deadlines without building a multi-year custom integration program
Qualitative timeline
Phases align to the Professional Services methodology. Week bands are indicative for an 8-12 week path to a first production workflow.
| Phase | Weeks | What happens in this pattern |
|---|---|---|
| Discover | 1-2 | Map systems of record (rights, title metadata, sales or distribution sites), migration constraints, and launch-critical workflows. Agree success criteria for cutover. |
| Design | 2-5 | Define event flows, transformation rules, and connector plan. Decide what runs parallel during migration versus what cuts over first. |
| Build & Integrate | 4-9 | Implement sync and enrichment workflows with Flomenco accelerators. Validate mappings with customer SMEs. Stand up test and staging paths. |
| Validate & Cutover | 8-12 | UAT and parallel run. Cut over the first production workflow. Document runbooks. Plan expansion (second business unit, additional catalog launches) or Managed Services handoff. |
After the first production workflow, many teams keep Flomenco engaged for additional workflows or ongoing Managed Services. That is scoped separately from the initial project.
Representative results
These outcomes come from anonymized customer stories of the same pattern. They are not claims about one fictional account.
| Theme | Representative outcome | Full story |
|---|---|---|
| Multi-system sync at launch pace | 12M+ events in a year across rights and title systems; 3M+ critical updates; multiple catalog launches in under three months | Leading anime streamer |
| Migration with bi-directional sync | Critical operations continued during title-platform migration; bi-directional sync with complex mapping; Fabric extended with bulk actions and custom logic; sales site kept aligned to the exploitation catalog | UK broadcaster and studio |

What this means for your team
- First production workflow targeted in 8 to 12 weeks when scope is clear
- Companion-first approach beside incumbents (rights, metadata, MAM/DAM). Automate gaps rather than rip and replace
- Accelerators for systems such as Rightsline, Fabric, Gracenote, Amazon S3, and related media tooling (confirmed in Discover)
- Clear boundary between project-based Professional Services and ongoing Managed Services
